In the south garden of the Art Institute of Chicago is the Fountain of the Great Lakes. Ana Belaval, Emmy award-winning newscaster and WGN Morning News correspondent, voices Lake Ontario, a statue with attitude! This monologue was written by life-long Chicagoan Elyse Kallen, a professional writer at Illinois Heath and Hospital Association.

Sculptor Lorado Taft created this monumental fountain of nymphs and flowing water as a tribute to America’s Great Lakes. The design of the piece is intended to mirror the interconnected system of water.
